New building, new space.
When the Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment at Oxford Brookes University moved into a new purpose-built headquarters, they saw a chance to make an impact with their lobby and reception.
This large area is an unusual shape — a narrow triangle with a rear wall 10 metres long and fronted by glass panels – but it provides a great opportunity to create a stunning permanent exhibition space.
We were commissioned to create visuals inspired by the university’s corporate identity. We began by distorting and reshaping brand elements in new ways to suit the space, with due consideration to lighting and physical movement through the rooms.
For the next stage, these concepts were presented to the architects for consideration on practical application.
“Everyone likes the swoosh of the imagery, the shape and the feeling of movement.”
Rhiannon Lassiter, Oxford Brookes University
